Lookout at Kalkari

Kalkari Discovery Centre

Excursion site

Located at the top of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, the Kalkari Discovery Centre is a wonderful place for students to explore. In the Centre, students will be be inspired to learn more about the park’s plants, animals, Aboriginal history and management.

During the day students will meander through ridgetop forest, passing ponds and enjoying the stunning scenery and sounds of nature. Along the way they will visit a lookout with spectacular scenic views over Cockle Creek, part of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

Through engaging, hands-on activities students will explore the environment and learn further about the plants, animals and Aboriginal heritage of the park.

Keep an eye out for the kangaroos as you walk!

Kalkari Discovery Centre is accessed on a sealed road - Ku-ring-gai Chase Road via Mt Colah near Hornsby.

There is a bus parking area at the Kalkari Discovery Centre.
