West Head is situated at the northern tip of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, providing spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The view from West Head lookout is considered one of the best in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, looking out across the Hawkesbury River to Lion Island Nature Reserve and the beaches of the Central Coast, to Barrenjoey Headland, Palm Beach and Pittwater.

The area showcases a rich diversity of significant Aboriginal sites including rock engravings and ochre art sites making it an ideal location for cultural education excursions.

Common tracks used by Gibberagong are Red Hands Cave TrackResolute Track, and The Basin walk to the engravings.

Getting here

West Head is accessed via sealed road. Bus parking is available at the Resolute picnic area.
