Program
Cultural Connections: Integrating Aboriginal histories and cultures in the new HSIE and Science syllabuses (K-6) aims to empower teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively integrate Aboriginal histories and cultures content into their teaching programs.
Workshop participants will:
✓ unpack the Aboriginal histories and cultures content of the new (2024) syllabuses
✓ gain practical examples of how the content may be taught in classrooms
✓ engage in on-Country activities including visiting important Aboriginal cultural sites
Standards
Completing Cultural Connections: Integrating Aboriginal histories and cultures in the new HSIE and Science syllabuses (K-6) will contribute 5 hours of TIPL addressing 2.1.2, 2.4.2, 3.4.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

| Adverse weather | On days where the weather is unsuitable (see risk assessment), a Gibberagong staff member will contact enrolled staff to discuss alternative arrangements. |
