Program
Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre's Sensory Incursion is an inclusive Aboriginal cultural learning program delivered directly to schools across Northern Sydney and the Central Coast. Designed for students with disability and additional learning and support needs, the incursion provides engaging, sensory-rich experiences that encourage participation, confidence and meaningful connections with Aboriginal culture and Country. Through hands-on activities including bush resource exploration, traditional Aboriginal games, ochre face painting and ochre hand stencil art, students experience authentic cultural learning in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment led by qualified NSW Department of Education teachers.

Learning activities
Hands-on Aboriginal cultural experiences
Students engage with Aboriginal cultural knowledge through interactive activities including bush resource exploration, ochre face painting, traditional games and ochre hand stencil art.

The program uses tactile, visual and movement-based learning experiences to support engagement, communication and meaningful participation for students with diverse learning needs.
Inclusive learning at your school
Delivered on your school site, each incursion is adapted to suit the needs, abilities and learning goals of participating students, ensuring every learner can actively engage.
Building respect for culture and Country
Students develop an appreciation of Aboriginal cultures, traditions and connections to Country through authentic, respectful and engaging learning experiences that promote inclusion and understanding.

Map for access to venue will be sent with the confirmation. Please ensure you print a copy and provide to the bus driver on the morning of the excursion. |

2026 DoE $15 per student - GST free 2026 Non-gov school cost $25 per student - GST free, minimum charge $750 per class. |
| Class numbers and size | Group sizes are dependant on students needs and abilities. |
| Risk assessments | A complete risk assessment will be sent upon confirmation. |
| Adverse weather | On days where the weather is unsuitable (see risk assessment), a Gibberagong staff member will contact the organising teacher to discuss alternative arrangements. |
| Medical notifications | Notify Gibberagong EEC by completing and returning the medical form before the incursion. This form will be sent out upon confirmation of booking. |
