




Learning on Country: Aboriginal histories and cultures Professional Learning Program will enable teachers to deepen their knowledge of local Aboriginal land practices and culture whilst learning on Country.
During the program, participants will be engaged in a workshop day where they will:
- engage in on-Country activities including an introduction to the local Aboriginal people, their culture and land practices
- visit important Aboriginal cultural sites
- examine strategies for incorporating Aboriginal histories and cultures into the K-6 curriculum, including inquiry-based learning sequences
To complete the course, participants must attend the onsite workshop, use knowledge gained from the workshop day to develop and implement a learning sequence and share their lessons with colleagues from the course during the follow-up 2 hour sharing video conference.
Standards: Completing Learning on Country will contribute 7 hours of TIPL addressing 2.4.2, 3.2.2, 6.3.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
