Program overview
The Geography Fieldwork K-6 teacher professional learning program increases particpants understanding of the Geography syllabus, with a particular emphasis on the geographical inquiry process, fieldwork and the use of geographical tools.
The program includes practical fieldwork activities, using geographical tools, that encourage teachers to use the school grounds as learning areas for student fieldwork.
The course can be delivered as one 2 hour twilight session or as a session within a Staff Development Day.
Standards:
Geography Fieldwork K-6 will contribute 2 hours of Elective PD addressing 1.2.2, 2.1.2, 3.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
