The Curriculum Focused Outdoor Learning course is a teacher professional learning program that aims to increases student engagement by enabling teachers to enhance their skills and confidence to take the curriculum outside and embed outdoor learning across all KLAs.
Outdoor Learning (OL) is a pedagogy that involves utilising the natural resources within the environment, both within and outside the school grounds, to deliver curriculum content.
To complete the course, participants must attend the onsite workshop, use knowledge gained from the workshop day to develop and implement a learning sequence and share their lessons with colleagues from the course during the follow-up 2 hour sharing video conference.
Standards: Engaging Students Outdoors will contribute 2 hours of TIPL addressing 2.1.2, 4.2.2, 6.2.2, 6.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
